Autumn can be an exciting time to be
married. The choice of season is according to your
individual tastes. This unforgettable event is just as
individual as the bride herself. Right here on the
panhandle of Florida, brides plan for months to be
married on our sugar white beaches. October and November
are especially popular because Florida’s heat is no
longer an issue. Within the peak of the fall season,
many a Spa and Salon find themselves working longer
hours so the bride and her wedding party can look their
best.

Among the young there is an unwritten
rule, "Thou must all look the same". Even though it is
stated, loudly, that individuality is soooo important. So why,
when it comes to the biggest event of a young person's life, The
Prom, one of the most important things that will get done is
their hair, and it will look just like everyone else's?

Funky Ponytail Ideas:
Wear two or more pigtails. Think Emma "Baby Spice" Bunton style
- either high pigtails on the top of her head that looked like
dog ears, or low slung pigtails that started just below the ears
for a real innocent school girl look.
Tie your hair up in knots. Hair knots and twists are a funky
ponytail variation. One knot or two, twist your hair and pin it
to your head. Pull a few loose strands out of the knots.
Create flirty curls. After creating the perfect slicked back
ponytail, use your favourite hot rollers or curling iron to
create a ponytail full of bouncy curls.
Splay the ends. Use some wax or hair paste to 'spray' the ends
out of your pony tail. Wear a side tail. Pull all your hair to
one side, and experiment with various options from splaying the
ends to curling them. You can wear it high or low or in between.
Wrap it. Take one section of your own hair and wrap it around
the top of your ponytail or pigtails. Try adding a clip-on braid
or hair strand and wrap that at the top of your ponytail for
contrasting texture or color.
Best Blow-Drying Tips
If you have a Cowlick - With a round or vent brush, dry your
fringe hair forwards to weigh it down, or choose a hair cut that
incorporates the cowlick into the style.
If you have a Double Crown - Drying the hair flat to the head
will only make your double crown stand out more. Instead,
firstly dry the hair in the opposite direction to what you want,
and then dry it back the other way. This will make the hair
stand up, and will cover up the crowns.
Save time by drying most of the moisture out of your hair by
shaking it dry with your hand and hair-dryer. Use clips to pin
the top layers of your hair out of the way and begin with the
underneath sections.
Fully dry each section of hair before moving to the next to
prevent it reverting back to its natural state.
For a smooth finish, aim the airflow from your hairdryer down
along the hair, in the direction of the ends. This smoothes the
hair cuticles and makes the hair shine.
A large paddle brush is a great finishing brush for that smooth
silky look.
Hair accessories include: hair combs, hair clips, jaw
clips, hairpiece, hair pins, French pins, hair barrettes, hair
sticks, hair magnets, hair snaps, etc. They come in different
interesting shapes, like alligator, flower, star, heart,
butterfly and so on and decorated with crystals, beads,
feathers, and bead in several varieties and combinations.
A headband works with all hair types. The classic way to wear a
headband is either with your hair down and tied up in a messy
bun. Sweep the band from your forehead to your crown, leaving
some of your bangs out.
Make sure the piece is not too big for your hair.
If your hair is short, slide a couple of small diamante pins
behind one ear for a subtle yet stylish look.
If your hair is long and fine, pull the top half into a
mini-ponytail and tie with a bauble elastic.
If your hair is long and thick, wear it out with a medium-sized
flower pinned just behind your ear, or in a bun with a larger
flower secured to one side.
Create a catwalk look easily with the half-up, half-down hair do
that was a hit at this season's shows. Take a small section of
hair from just above each ear and secure at the back of the head
with a vintage-style clip.
Barrettes or hair clips are a great way to create a simple,
sleek look especially good for really short hair. With the
recent explosion of hair accessories, you can find them in any
shape or style. Also very popular for holding tiny dreadlocks
into place to form a line of hair twists at the top of the
crown.
Hair pins are wonderful accent pieces that nestle well into a
sleek and sexy version of the French twist.
